Labor Day is an opportunity to celebrate the central role workers play in the economy and society. By fighting against wage theft and other labor law violations, supporting collective action in the workplace and standing up for the human rights of all workers, the Central Ohio Workers Center is part of a long and proud tradition in the United States.

In 2018, the rights of workers and their unions are under assault in legislatures and courts across the nation. However, working people and their organizations have never depended on judges or politicians to decide their fate. Past victories were won by ordinary people who organized in our workplaces and in our communities for economic and social justice. Those victories continue to inspire us now and into the future.

Against the backdrop of deliberate efforts to create division on the basis of race and national origin, the COWC recognizes there is no force more powerful than a united working class. This Labor Day we renew our commitment to advocating for and organizing with workers and immigrants in Central Ohio. We hope you will join us!
