We are still excited about the turnout for the “Know Your Rights in the Workplace” event! This gathering was more than just an educational experience; it truly empowered and connected the women in our community. For many attendees, understanding their rights is not just important but essential for their well-being and confidence in the workplace.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Women Fund of Central Ohio for making this event possible. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our presenters: Carmen Reyes Rodriguez, Assistant District Director at the Wage and Hour Division of the federal Department of Labor; Nathan Hall, Wage Theft Prevention Coordinator with the City of Columbus; Alessandra M. Rosa, Esq., Lead Outreach and Education Manager with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; Maria Scott and Jesse E. Dixon from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); attorney Rachel Wenning; Joe Bagby from Unite Here; Gloria Altamirano with Justice for Migrant Women; and Robertha Fersan from Columbus Public Health.

We would also like to thank our amazing volunteers: Linda, Alma, Ishan, and Isaiah. Additionally, we are grateful to St. Stephen Church for providing the space for the event and for all their support.
